Terms of service

Scope

These terms govern use of Storylight by tenant accounts (sites embedding the SDK) and operator accounts (humans accessing the dashboard).

Tenant responsibilities

• You are the data controller for visitors to your site. Storylight acts as your processor for that subset of data.
• You agree to surface a privacy notice on your site disclosing what Storylight collects from your visitors.
• You agree not to embed the SDK on sites that target users in jurisdictions Storylight has not been deployed for (currently US only).
• You retain ownership of all data collected from your site's visitors. You can request export or deletion at any time.

Cross-site network feature

Storylight's value lies in identifying the same end-user across multiple participating sites. By embedding the SDK you consent to your visitor data being included in the cross-site identity graph. The graph itself is product output; other tenants only see aggregate "also seen on N other sites" indicators, never your raw visitor data.

Pricing

Closed alpha is free. Storylight reserves the right to introduce pricing later with reasonable advance notice. Existing alpha participants will be grandfathered into a free tier for at least one year after general availability.

Service level

No SLA during alpha. Best-effort uptime on a single VPS. Storylight may pause or shut down the service with 14 days' notice during alpha.

Termination

Either party may terminate at any time. On termination, your tenant is deactivated and the SDK stops accepting new events for your client key within 24 hours. Your historical data is retained for 30 days, then deleted, unless you request earlier deletion.

Liability

Closed-alpha software. No warranty, express or implied. Maximum liability is capped at $0 (no money changes hands during alpha).
